Coaching with Julie Swenson, FDNP
I specialize in developing personalized health and wellness programs tailored to address the unique needs of each client in achieving their ideal health and weight. Our collaborative approach involves a comprehensive assessment of the holistic factors affecting the body. Through this process, we devise a realistic and sustainable plan, creating a clear path forward that is conducive to achieving enduring results.

In contrast to many conventional approaches where practitioners often focus on isolated aspects of health, leaving individuals feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and financially drained from attempting numerous solutions, I adopt a more comprehensive strategy. My role is to provide clients with access to pertinent tests and resources, unraveling the complexities of their health puzzle. The ultimate goal is to enable clients to experience vitality, renewed energy, and the ability to shape their own lives.

Utilizing functional lab testing and a series of thoughtfully designed questionnaires, we undertake a holistic examination, connecting the dots to address underlying issues within the body comprehensively. This approach aims to provide a lasting solution to health challenges.

I integrate holistic and functional health practices along with transformational coaching modalities into all my programs. This fusion is designed to instigate authentic behavioral and lifestyle changes, fostering optimal health for my clients. Through this synergistic approach, we aim not only to address immediate health concerns but also to cultivate enduring habits that contribute to sustained well-being.

I'm a 53 year old woman in peri-menopause. When i was in my 40's I could feel my body changing. When I hit 50, so many strange things started to happen. I had 3 days where I bled non-stop, I started having hot flashes at night, brain fog, forgetfulness, weight gain in odd areas, and I just didn't feel like myself.   I had friends who had experienced menopause and so I did what most women do, I asked them, "Hey, is this normal". What I was told did not sit well with me. "Its part of life, you are getting older", "Just deal with it", or the best one..."I have no idea". What do you mean you have no idea? How do we not know what is happening to our bodies, especially when we spend 40% or longer of our lives in some stage of menopause?   So I did what any person would do, or a Type A person like me would do and I set out on an adventure to learn. I have taken many classes, earned certifications, and found Functional Diagnostic Nutrition as the key to being able to having an extra set of eyes on my body. Telling me what is really happening and guiding me toward better health, mindset, and yes...my journey to building muscle!.   You don't have to be a body builder, a gym rat, or a gymaholic...but you do need muscle to sustain a healthy and vibrant life and resilience.   And then there is my gut! I'm learning to LOVE my guts! It's fascinating what our bodies are capable of and how we can heal them when we actually know what is going on! I have had issues all of my life starting from when I was a child. Allergies, asthma, swelling all over my face, ankles, legs, rashes, arthritis, bloating, gas (TMI), but it's the freaking truth! In 2022 I had a rash that went around my neck and it looked like someone had strangled me. I went to the doctor and they had no clue what was going on. Because I had done some testing with a coach of mine, I knew I had gut challenges and at the time I was still trying to combat SIBO. BUT did they mention the possibility of more testing? NO...what they did do is take a chunk out of my neck, and then proceeded to tell me what they thought it could be. Cancer and Wilson's Disease were just two of their many thoughts. I don't know about you, but when I heard that I was googling and planning out my potential life or lack there of with the thought of either one of those being a possibility. Lucky for me, it was neither BUT they never did find it because they relied on it being something in my neck. No gut tests, no adrenal function tests, no hormone tests...NOTHING! That is when I decided to take my health into my own hands once and for all. I got serious about the courses I had enrolled in from health, coaching, nutrition, and personal training and I decided I was going to opt in to my own health discovery and become a detective! Can I just tell you how freaking fun it is to see your tests, actually see the opportunistic bacteria having a little party in my gut, my mucosal barrier allowing toxins in my system creating all kinds of fun for them but not so much for my health! My hormones...totally out of whack which brings me back to the beginning of my story. And let's not forget food! What is one man's pleasure is another man's poison. After doing my food sensitivities test and metabolic typing test I found that EGGS were like a sleeping pill for me, I was sensitive to gluten, and I burn protein and fats as my fuel, not carbs. So learning how to balance that out has been a game changer for me! Especially as I train and build so I have strength as I age...and I'll be honest, I love they way I look when I got some meat on my bones! Balance is the key and my goal is to help you find the balance in YOUR health journey. To help you get to know what is going on inside so that too can live out your great story, in any stage of life! JOIN ME, LET'S CONNECT YOUR DOTS, LET'S LIVE OUR GREATEST STORY!!

“This program gets to the "why" and does not bandaid the issues. Go For It! You will learn so much about your body. Your FDN Practitioner will provide options for the best program for you.”
- Kristi M.
"With my FDN Practitioner, I have been able to stabilize my blood sugar by fixing my gut and my cycles have normalized. My relationship with food has also improved. I intuitively eat to maintain my weight and live in the moment. I no longer obsess about an unsustainable diet like before."
- Sarah Z.
“The first time I talked to my FDN Practitioner was the first time I felt true hope that there was a solution to help me. Not only has she helped me make massive progress with my health conditions (thyroid, adrenals, leaky gut), but I now have a completely new way of relating to my body, which is priceless.”
